This is a private reference site, not a Pocahontas County office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the government office that holds the record or controls the service.

Choose the Right Record Office

The Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office and Jail are at 22 SE Court Street, Pocahontas, IA 50574. Call dispatch at 712-335-3308 for routing or the jail at 712-335-5071 for jail information. County public-facing hours are listed as 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; those are not published as dedicated records-unit hours. Dispatch operates around the clock for public safety. No booking-record email, form, fee schedule, or fixed response time has been published, so ask for the current request channel and a cost estimate.

  • For a county booking sheet or intake photograph, begin with the full booking-record request path, then contact the sheriff or jail.
  • For an active warrant concern, use the Most Wanted Fugitives court, clerk, and dispatch routes.
  • For a recent arrest, check the current jail roster through the home page. There is no separate county arrest log or released-booking feed.
  • For custody or release alerts on covered records, use Iowa VINE, which is linked by the county jail. WENS is for emergency and community alerts, not inmate status.
  • For a filed case or disposition, use Iowa Courts Online or call the Pocahontas County Clerk of Court at 712-335-4208. Verify current personnel in the county directory.
  • For a state prisoner or supervised person, use the Iowa Department of Corrections offender search. Request a DOC photograph separately through its open-records portal.
  • For federal custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. For ICE detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator; neither system displays inmate photographs or replaces a federal court case.

The county jail's video visits are by appointment on Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. or Sundays from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., except holidays or posted changes. Call at least 24 hours ahead. Visitation scheduling is a jail service, not a way to request records.
